It sounds like a bold promise, but there are techniques to learning anything. You can take any skill and transform from being “good” at it to being “great” at it.
This is something entrepreneurs especially will find comes in handy, because we’re put into positions where we have to master a skill - FAST - if we want our business to grow ALL the time. But it can be hard to master so many new things. It’s overwhelming, isn’t it?
The best way I’ve found to think of your skills is to consider them ASSETS. No matter what happens in a venture, the skills you gain working on that project will come with you into any other project you touch from there on out.
Here are the steps to mastering ANY skill:
1. Get Clear on What is Holding you Back
If you want to get great at a part of your business, one of the first things you need to do is figure out exactly what is stopping you from getting there. If you can answer that question honestly, you can pick the skill you really need to focus on to get the most impact early on. You want to do something specific that will give you an easy way to see whether or not your attempts are even working. Tackle the roadblocks one at a time.
2. Immerse Yourself in the Education
Read as much as you can in the topic. Get as much education from all sources to figure out what it really takes to really win. You’re going to learn both what the successful people are doing that’s working right now, and you’re also going to figure out the trends that have sustained over time. That way you know where to start and you know what’s going to move you forward.
3. Take the Key Pieces and Turn them into a Real Plan
You’re going to know where you want to go and what skills you need, so you need to then create a plan for how to tackle the problem head-on. Your plan will show you which roadblocks you’re going to tackle in which order, but it’s also going to help you figure out how you’re going to integrate this new skill into the rest of your business.
4. Evaluate Your Results
Once you’ve been using your plan for a while, make sure you evaluate what you’re getting back. You can figure out what’s working, what’s not, and refine your skills to really focus on what’s best for your business to get the MOST out of every single task you do.
Make sure you watch the video above so you can leverage the MOST out of your business!
